With this painting I tried to visualize the historic importance and the amazing atmosphere of the Brandenburg Gate at night.

For the gate I used a naples yellow, which has a bright glazing and catchest he viewers attention, especially against the dark background. Because I used a mixture of sepia brown, Indigo and helium cerulear for the beautiful night sky instead of a black color the sky appears more natural.

The Brandenburg Gate is the center of this painting, and because  oft hat I painted the tourists in the foreground in a monochrom sepia brown. So the gate remains the brightest object in this painting and it arises a contemplative and devotional atmosphere.
