pentecost
holy spirit
The Christian holiday of Pentecost is celebrated
on the 50th day (the seventh Sunday) from Easter Sunday. Pentecost is one of the most important festivals next to Christmas and Easter.
In the Bible we read how at the baptism of Jesus the Holy Spirit descended on him in the form of a dove
(Luke 3:22).
In this painting, the dove radiates warmth. The people in the foreground are filled with this warmth and the Holy Spirit.
Blue is a very cold color.
We humans often experience coldness and suffering in this world.
The Holy Spirit radiating warm colors gives us hope!
Acrylc painting on canvas (70x60 cm)
"And I will show wonders in the heavens above and signs on the earth below, blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke;
the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved."
Acts 2:19-21
